Club activity in progress

"KHOJ" 2018-2019, Science & Tech Fest :    Possibly the first of it's kind in Navi Mumbai. On the 6th of January 2018, our Trust along with the Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside held an Inter-School Science & Technology Fest at NMMC Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Sector 4, Nerul West. This Festival comprised Projects by the students, talks by experts, prize distribution and an Astronomy session for star gazing. This competition was open to students up to 10th Standard of all schools in Navi Mumbai. The details of the programme were made available in the pdf files given below. Parents and students were welcomed to come to witness the wonderful projects made by the students. Gazing of stars through telescopes by Khagol was organized at Nerul Gymkhana Amphitheatre in the evening.

Science & Technology Club

10th January 2018: We inaugurated our first Club in a Municipal School in Nerul (sector 4). The present and the future Clubs will be joint projects of our Trust and the Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside. Around 150 students from three Municipal schools of Nerul attend the inaugural session and all seemed to want to be a part of the project. After a few sessions the number has stabilized at 52 students.

The club works on alternate Saturday, for the present, in the school premises. The idea is to inculcate the spirit of scientific enquiry in the students and help them to do science projects so that they get hands-on experience. The students will be encouraged to come up with ideas and help will be given to develop working models. Who knows... possibly one day.... one or more of the students may become great scientists! The present club has two wonderful personalities as their guides...Dr. Nagpal(ex-BARC) and Mr. Sudeep S. Dillon(entrepreneur). The Trustees, R. Radhakrishnan & Mrs. Lalitha R. are also a part of the faculty.

Mr. S. Sankaran is the Chairman for the project. Our heartfelt thanks to the Principal of the School, Mr. Sonawane, whose help in starting the Club cannot be put in words. WE are also thankful to NMMC Education Officer for granting us to set up the club in a Municipal School. We look forward to making this Club of ours one of the best in the country.
